This is a typical cryptic crossword kinda clue...

Mad about Adam's beginning

Ask yourself: what is Adam's beginning? One letter is required.

After that the next key word is 'about' ... this tells you something else has to be about (around) Adam's beginning.

You are looking for a four-letter band name featured on the ProgArchives website.

Yell out if you are still stuck!

Now, let me subject you to more pain

Two-word band name...

Short Richard from Down Under has octopus arms

I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

Adam's beginning is A
Multitudes of letters can be around A
Mad is equivalet to angry, upset, etc.
Of course, Adam's beginning could be birth, but that is 5 letters not one.
geez...too much for me.

Lorak, it might all be a bit easier than you think!

Why does Mad have to stand for anything other than Mad?

Haven't thought of a new clue yet so someone else is welcome to jump in.

Maad it is!

Here's another band clue in the cryptic crossword style...

You know, the Italian one!

See if you can find another word for a 'long story' in 'salsa games'

It's also a name of a band on this website!

"Without prog, life would be a mistake."

T.Rox do not take offense, but I don't like your cryptic clues.  It's probably because I suck at figuring them out

Legendary Pink Dots?

Is Pink Dots a Salsa game?
A legend is not neccessarily a long story.  I tried.

I prefer clues like this:

Eternity but longer
Two heads are better than one, but if you want something done right, do it yourself.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, but better safe than sorry.
Look before you leap, but he who hesitates is lost

Saga it is ... and you've probably spotted the 'logic' by now ... but if not, the answer is highlighted: salsa games

Lorak, no offence taken!

Cryptic clues just take a little getting used to. There's only so many ways things can be done cryptically before you start to see how the author's mind works.

As for your clue, what it is if it is not cryptic escapes me at present. My mind says if must be something like 'Forever More' ... but I guess that ain't right?

Forever More is not correct.

Their roots are in BS (Black Sabbath)

My clue is for a band that is NOT in the PA.  I thought they were, but checked and could not find them.  IMO they are more Prog than Styx or Queen.

I'll throw another one out there in the meantime.  Should be relatively easy
