hmmmm... I would have to say Dance on a Volcano, but otherwise the album is great with Phil. ATOTT ,I think, was my true introduction to prog (I don't the Alan Parsons Project count that much or Pink Floyd, even though they are progressive)

Lets remember something, Mad Man Moon and A Trick of the Tail were written by Gabriel and Banls for SEBTP, but didn't reached the album, of course the arrangements were altered to fit into Phil's voice.

But if I had to choose one song that fit Peter perfectly it would be Dance in a Volcano, the rest of the album seems made for Phil.

Now if you gave me W&W, there are at least 3 songs that would be much better with Gabriel; Eleventh Earl, One for the Vine and All in a Mouse Night.

How come he gets no writing credit then?

The two songs were written during the Gabriel era, but not by Gabriel.  I'm pretty sure that they were solely Banks compositions.  In fact, Mad Man Moon was initiailly intended for a solo album by Banks, but was reworked for the entire band.  The title track for AToTT was actually written well before the sessions for Selling England (before Phil joined the band,...I read somewhere that this song was developed sometime around 1970/71).

Robbery, assault & battery but I thibk Phil Collins sung the album well so there is no need for Peter Gabriel in this album.

Excellent album as it is, the second best from Genesis and in my all-time top 10. Why change it?

I agree, but as we're hypothesising, if there were one track that HAD to be sung by PG then I'd say "Dance on A Volcano", I think it's the song that would have suited his style most.
(But, I still voted "None")

Hard to say, as I think Collins sounded alot like Gabriel in those days, albeit a softer version. I can hear him singing 'Robbery Assault & Battery' actually, and really putting his all into the characters. I think he was better at that than Phil.
