WARNING: We are not a prog band (unfortunately) but I would realy like to hear your thoughts. Replies like you suck completely are also accepted.

We started this band two months ago. In the beggining we would play simple cover songs from Black Sabbath, Judas Priest etc. Later on we started composing our own. The funny part of it is that our singer who is also the keybordist and violinist listens more to Doom metal, atmospheric like my dying bride, anthema etc. our guitarist mostly heavy metal, our bassist 70's progressive and rock stuff and me (lately more into prog-rock/metal). As a result of that is a complete mixture of everything which I really enjoy. Some people in fact have told me that songs like Pandemic have a prog feel.

What do you think about us?

Forgot to inform you that the songs aren't completed yet so ideas would be appreciated.

Oh, and we recorded all this stuff so the production sucks........

Im a guy who f**kin hates metal!!! But your first song "pandemic" or something like that I believe, was really good! If all of your songs we're like that (a little Camel-like I thought)... I would of loved everything... But sadly Im not a fan of the other songs, but that's just because of my music taste. But you got some great potential.

Huh, I like it.
In each of the songs I like the bass, I agree with stebo on thoughts of Pandemic. I think my favorite however is Devastation, Don't know why though, just soudns good. I'm not a big fan of covers so I don't like them so much. The piano version of Pandemic seemed a bit too slow for my taste. My advice would be too stick with composing your own stuff. Keep us posted, sounds good.

The recording quality is quite bad, but I'm sure you already know that

It's harder to judge when the recordings like that but I like your ideas, the bass/guitar this in the 2nd song reminded me of Sabbath.

Keep on rocking

Actually, your bands general idea reminded me of mine haha, its in my signature if you care to see

It has a very otherworldly feel to it, a sense of forboding & maybe emminent doom or destruction. I'm not convinced the string part is appropriate for this tune. You might try a dirty Hammond organ-type sound instead, or in places. One thing about synth strings is they tend to be a bit distracting & whiney.

I think there is potential here. You already know what needs to be done production-wise. So stop reading this post & get back at it.

Hi sularetal,

I have had chance to listen to your music.  You definitely have the Sabbath sound going well.  I can certainly enjoya good metal tune.  I would have to agree with GPFR, my favorite is Devastation.  Keep on writing.
