Krusty's is hard!  A hint, please.

You haven't yet even tried this:
"No, sir, these people are not my traveling mates."
(This must be approached semantically, not at the words themselves - and it is easy!)
OK, another hint: the band's name is also Patricia Highsmith's novel.
___

I have a new for you. Again some literary stuff: Orwell's 1984 has a certain word for the 'language'
used in the novel's society. That word is my clue for a band.

^ Well your's is STRANGERS ON A TRAIN which was very hard
But your clue completely gave it away

A clue for mine could be...

The literal answer to my question "sounds like" a band in the RIO section.

Reading the RIO band list bewildered me even more. If it's NEWS FROM BABEL your clue is twisted indeed!
(tall story = the tower of Babel; some people = Bible-readers, Christians)
But in that case why "sounds like"...

Nope, not News From Babel. I can see your logic though.

The "Sounds Like" bit is Very important... When people lie, you could say "they are telling a tall _____"
(another word for story)

Well that word sounds like but is not spelt the same as the final answer.
(are you even more confused now?)

T.Rox's clue seems totally ignored (I can't get it either!), as well as this one by me:

Orwell's 1984 has a certain word for the way the powers use language.
That word is my clue for a band.
(Easy for those who remember the novel well!)

And a new one: - "Should we have a car?" - "A van would be handy."
