^ could you please edit the first post where you quoted statistics? You forgot to mention which album it was.

BTW: The new Riverside album has just been released ... check the statistics in 5 months - I bet there will be 2 or 3 times more 1 star reviews. Octavarium also started with an average rating around 4.40 ... I'm sure that the Riverside album will drop as much as Octavarium, but it WILL drop.

I compared Second Life Syndrome with Scenes from a memory. It might be farily new so only the most die-hard fans would get it...but of all obscure artists with more than 30 reviews the ratings are always unlikely high

Essential: a masterpiece of progressive music (40%)
Excellent addition to any prog music collection (17%)
Good, but non-essential (15%)
Collectors/fans only (9%)
Poor. Only for completionists (19%)

Amazing 20% of 300 reviews are 1 star ratings!!!

Thats 60 1 star ratings!!!

Ha humm i think you are right  Although i did not think it was THAT bad...infact i would have rated it 4 stars

Dream Theater rule the roost becuase they are the definition of Prog-metal but its nice to see the likes of Tool, Shadow Gallery, Kamelot, Vovoid, Symphony X, Queensryche and the mighty Threshold not far behind

I agree with what your saying Mike, its hard to compare an album thats been out 6 years with one thats been out a month.

Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005
