Yes Vs Genesis

Well, I need to say that I'm really surprised !!!

YES is a great band, I have almost 2/3 of his catalogue, but I think their work, in comparison with GENESIS, inferior ! And I always thought that people here on PRA were more genesian styled ! (even because all neo-prog bands follows GENESIS, not YES).

What a surprise !!!

But GENESIS is VERY MUCH BETTER than yes !!!!

Interesting to find same thing happens in every poll where Yes is part, somebody has enough time to log and logout enough times to assure Yes winning.

I believe 4 Genesis albums are in the top 10 of Prog Archives lists and Yes wins every Poll by almost 50%, this is not normal or even logic.

I find Yes monotonous, dull as ditchwater and lyrically painful except for a very few places.

Genesis are more consistently inventive up until and including Duke, IMO.

Um, so now what your saying is, if your trained to play all types of music your a vituroso?

You simply don't want to understand, Symphony Orchestras hire the best musicians possible, all haveto be trained and a lot of them are virtuoso in their respective instruments and don't play solos, this Orchestras don't hire mediocre players.

Are Derek Shulman, RayShulman and Kerry Minnear bad musicians because Gentle Giant disbanded in 1980?

Peter gabriel left Genesis because of Personal reasons after the Lamb, but he didn't stayed quiet, he made a lot of great albums, Steve Hackett left Genesois because he didn't agree with the path they were taking but has by far the best solo career in Prog'.

Yes, I'm the furst critic of 3 men Genesis, everyboody knows that, but I believe that in the 70's they made better music than Yes according to my taste.

IMO 90125 and Big Generator are better than most 3 men solos Genesis albums, but still I believe they also sold out during the Rabin era.

But you're saying that only those who play solos are virtuoso this is too much. Maybe you should ask Proglover with whom I had a long and strong argument, he's better trained than me in music but I'm sure he would also laugh about this statement.
