Buddhism offers technics such as breathing or Mantra singing.
Unfortunatly, christianism in his current form, has lost this esoteric dimension.
You only have to BELIEVE in what they said but it offers no "technic" to feel better, to connect with the infinity. Prayer is not a good one, IMO, as it exalts human ego.

Good one! but would that not make you Agnostic?
I would like to say I am Atheist of the Epicurian school but that would mean also getting down to paganism!

Happily surprised. |
I wonder how many of those don't
actively practice the religion, but call themselves Christians because
they go to church at Christmas and Easter. Maybe I'm just being a
bit cynical, but my experience has shown otherwise.

I am only speaking for myself but me,my wife and 2 children go to church every Sunday. |
It's the same with me (well apart from the wife and children ).
It's just that I've come across people who when asked for to give their
religion describe themselves as "Christian", despite only going to
church twice a year. For some reason, they seem to think this
(and getting married in a church) is good enough, which it certainly
isn't.

Have you read the Bible?
After the Flood,God made a pact with Noah that he would never interfere in the affairs of man again.
