I have recently been listening to the Ozric Tentacles, I have just bought the double CD set with the Hidden Step and Waterfall Cities, they are both good albums although they have a slightly Techno edge, theres some nice guitar work on there though.

I only have Erpland, and I really enjoy it (most friends who enjoy the band say that it's the best) ... but funnily enough, from what I've heard of the others, I haven't felt compelled to get more albums ...

Erpland is a good choice, though in my opinion they are all good except for "Arborescence", which I can't warm up to.

I love their live album Live Underslunky: great blend of several styles, great play on synthesizers (like Steve Hillage) and guitar (often distored, very spcetacular), amazing dynamic drums work and the track Kick Muck is MINDBLOWING! I have seen them once, it was so weird to notice the absence of the average proghead, most people were rastafari's, even the whites and then the blue clouds because of all those big joints...this was an uforgettable experience!!

Out of the studio albums, I think you have the best already but actually they are all great. They've never done a weak album. |

My favorites are actually the ones you have, The Hidden Step and Waterfall Cities. I thought the techno influence was exactly what they needed to bring something new and energetic to their sound.
Otherwise, Erpland is the way to go. |

Basically, I like all OT albums, but I really enjoy listening to The Hidden Step, The Bits Between the Bits and Curious Corn.
But as I said, I like all albums, including recent onces and the eighties tapes. The really liked Nodens Ictus project as well. If you like OT, you should definitely listen to Nodens Ictus. And to all you Dutch and Belgium fans. Tonight OT plays a gig in Helmond at the Plato. |

The main problems with Ozric is that their albums are all the same. It is almost impossible to tell one from another. I've got 13 studio albums by them (not sure if my collection is complete), and the reason for me collecting was to find some differences between albums. I failed to find much - they all sound the same to me. The only really enjoyable thing is their DVD "At The Pongmasters Ball" - impressive stuff.
