Topic: Better here or DDD? Posted: October 13 2005 at 22:38 |
I'm undecided. Although I think the forum itself is better here, I don't know yet about the community here.

What community on DDD? There were 5 or 6 regulars and a lot of lurkers, trolls or flamers.
I've been in many web sites as member but I feel more comfortable here than in any other, even though I have great great friends on other sites, but Prog Archives has everything:
- A Lot of great people
- Only a few a$$holes that usually leave by their own choice.
- People who know a lot of Prog
- Fast answers, in other sites you have to wait a week before a post gets an answer, that's the main problem on other good places, here if you don't answer fast you find yopur thread on page 3, and that's having a living site..
- People willing to discuss.
- An excellent review section.
- But best of all it's fun and relaxing.

Bullsh*t, DDD has close to 2000 members and i'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of 100-200 regulars. We have our fair share of trolls and the like but I find the folk there much more warm and inviting. On DDD there are several people who truly know their stuff musically, and this isn't limited to the world of prog(Though it is my favorite rock world). There are fast answers at DDD as well, the moderators do a pretty good job of updating lists and seeing that things get done. There is always discussion at DDD about a wide variety of topics. Now I may enjoy DDD more because there are more teens on it than here(Though I do like the old people that are on DDD), but you are making it seem like a ghost town with no activity. Frankly I don't like it.
Whoot! DDD representin'!
