I've had heard of Amon Düül II before but never heard their music before founding this site. (I don't remember how I found it, must been a year since.) Today they are second almost only to Genesis on my list.

I've got two Gentle Giant and King Crimson. My dad had most of the gentle giant cd's but i never listened to them until a kept seeing trouserpresses obsession with them. King Crimson i just got into because everyone kept talking about the song red and such so I burned one of there cd's and I cant stop listening to them

I've heard about almost all of the bands youv'e mentiond, But I havn't listend to many of them.
A band, which I never heard ANYTHING about at all, which I discoverd entering random names os PA, is 7For4.
They are truly a great band and they even have a sample here on PA. RECOMMENDED.

The major ones have been
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso
Quella Vecchias Locanda
Camel (though I'm still unconvinced)
Gentle Giant
Porcupine Tree
Glass Hammer
The Flower Kings
PFM
The last four fairly obsessively I have to admit....
And also Garion made me listen to Kansas' reunion album 'Somewhere to
Elsewhere' which I was really dubious about and now I adore and
Proto-Kaw. Top man!

I have bought Pendragon, Porcupine tree, Karnataka, Opeth, Flower Kings, Mars Volta, Tangerine Dream, Ayreon and Enchant as a result of reviews and MP3's on this site. Of these i was disappointed in the last two but enjoyed the rest.I would buy lots more but i am a traditional record store buyer and have yet to unleash my wallet on the internet.Unfortunately Australia is a prog backwater and the record stores are pitifully bare of prog.
