I just read the Cricket thread and see what you mean! He was roundly attacked and abused by other members too though! I still don't think he should have been banned, some of his opinions are right on the money!

he made general remarks about English, American and German people that
were certainly prejudiced. as I pointed out, calling me "German gasser"
was doubly wrong; one of his errors he could not know (I am half-Irish,
half-American, and among my American roots there seem to be some
Chinese and native American involved a few generations ago), but he
could certainly assume I am not an octogenarian. I don't think these
remarks are "right on the money". now there is nothing wrong with a
little leg-pulling and tongue-in-cheek remarks about nationality, but
his comments had nothing to do with that
