Take your pick of all his albums I don`t have to list them all. Because if I happenned to omit one I would be getting the regular: wheres this album wher`s that album. The question mark on my computer does not work.my favourite is Security and my fave song is The Family And The Fishing Net. Primus do an awesome cover version of this song,

I agree, it's the one I return to most often if I'm in the mood for some solo PG stuff. In Your Eyes, though, is my favorite PG tune.

I'm a strange Genesis fan, I love everything from the Gabriel era (including a couple of songs of FGTTR) but Peter's solo stuff doesn't moves me as old Genesis music.
That doesn't mean I don't like his albums, I have everyone and love most of them (except OVO) and his concerts are out of this world experiences, but for me his years as Genesis frontman are the best of his long and good career.
My favorite PG album is PG1.

"Passion" (OST for "The Last Temptation of Christ")
Hands down, my favorite Gabriel work of all time- and an incredible journey on its own even if you disliked or have never seen the film.

I can't vote because I don't consider Peter Gabriel's solo stuff progressive music. I'm the first and the huggest Genesis 70-75 fan, but I think that Peter solo discography is at many prog sites with no reason. Sorry.

but anyway, the rainy car is a marvellous record, actually the only one as tight as a rope, and the most underrated of them all. And why you hate SO and US, they are comercial but still a great concept albums, a "world side" of music hahahaha

HI, THIS IS CÉSAR INCA.
I think that PG's career is not full of dramatic ups and downs - on the contrary, he has kept a high level of integrity, cleverness and inventiveness all along his career. But if I have to choose one fave recording, that will be 'Security'. It is his absolute cornerstone: it's got the fire of his first 3 recordings, and the magic of all his ethnic-influenced stuff tha thas kept him overtly busy ever since. Something that was being insinuated in '3', became mature in 'Security'.
I think that some of the electric fire of 'Security' has resurfaced in 'Up'. What about 'Passion'? One of the best OSTs ever... but again, I am a Gabriel freak, so I guess I might as well be too dogmatic here...
(My three Peters: Gabriel, Hammill, and Nicholls).

Peter Gabriel was probably the most 'progressive' musician in the late seventies and early eighties.He certainly didn't allow his music to stagnate in the 'comfort zone' of so many of his contemporaries.

I drink Campiri with well marinated dead cat myself even when I am not in a drunken stupor. I like to have my whore with me as well just in case of emergency.
