Hmm fantomas you must have the silliest way of argueing i have ever seen...calling the great bands like yes or genesis for crap and complicated songs is just nonsense they have inspired so many great prog artist wich again inspired many great prog artists.
If it has not been for yes or genesis the prog of today would never have sounded like it does..they managed to create a complety new language of music listened to by hundreds of artists.
Its just like jimi hendrix although there are millions of guitarists that are better than him techincaly you would not have such a high level of guitar playing.
So yes, genesis, king crimson is the cornerstones of what we define as prog music...its ok if you dont like them but calling them crap is calling the entire idea of progressive music crap and you might as well go back to listening to your michael jackson albums.

Without British and Italian Symphonic bands, Prog' Metal wouldn't exist or at the most would be just some more obscure metal bands unknown by most of the world.
The band Fantomas is good (A bit too loud though), I can't deny this fact, but ithey are only an obscure subterranean group than in 2 or 3 years will be forgotten forever, while people keep talking about Yes, Genesis or PFM 30 + years.

Those are not alleagable reasons to why a band doesn't suck. If small rodents hadn't existed in the beginning of times, we wouldn't exist today. That doesn't mean that I eat rats for breakfast. Who are you to judge hypothetical matters related to the future? Perhaps you could tell me, when and where exactly I will lose my keys next time in the future, and save me a bill from the locksmith. Also, what difference does it make whether people talks about them? You know, people talk about Green Day, Nickleback, child molesting, George W. Bush, cancer, and hair in the food, as well. That doesn't make any of those things good.

Of course I do. I'm a fan of Experimental Music, let us say. As so, I
think that Yes and Genesis are bad bands. TO ME they're boring, because
it's not the kind of sound that I like. In my "group" of people I'm not
the only one.

What a fantastic answer it must have taken you long time to thing out something so constructive as that. Anyway i dont like jimi hendrix but if i say he was crap it would be like saying alot of artists that i actually do love is crap and it would really just be a silly thing to say anyway because music would never be the same without him and i might as well say everybody that played guitar music was crap. But fair enough you are obviosolly one of those that will never understand what true progressive music is all about.

If Yes and Genesis are not experimental, then I guess Britney Spears is "experimental" then?

True progressive?!
Well, I like Happy The Man, which has strong Genesis influence. But,
how can I say that Genesis is crap and Happy The Man isn't? Simple.
Happy The Man use this way of playing in a way that I like, and Genesis
in a way that I HATE. So, TO ME, THE BAND GENESIS is crap, but I don't
deny their influences.

About the new James Labrie album, it was extremely experimental for James Labrie. He was experimenting with different styles of singing that he has not really used lately. (well, ToT) I haer he was influenced by the normal Progressive singers, Seal, Chester Bennington, Mudvayne in EOP. A lot of hip hop influences too, I'm actually surprised I like it.
