Hi there!

I found out about this band through people I know and I really think this band should be included on the archives.

At least because they make music in the same vein as Anathema, Opeth, Oceansize etc...
(I know three totally different bands, but Katatonia actually made one sound of them all and still is original)

Their music consists of heavy dark metal parts, with romantic acoustic parts and both grunting aswell as gentle singing. They have very short songs, but that's not always the case.

Am I the only one who thinks they should be included on this archive?

I'm not too familiar with the band, but I have the Teargass and Tonight's Music EP's aswell as the "Brave Yesterday" double cd.

Hope this gets included.

Cheers,

Tristan.

I have "Viva Emptiness", "Tonight's Decision" and "Last Fair Deal Gone Down". Very good stuff, i am also familiar with their side project Bloodbath with Mikael Akerfeldt and Edge of Sanity drummer i think... Very brutal stuff!.

Katatonia (not to be mistaken with welsh pop group who did "road rage", led by cerys matthews), are a great band but i dont see them as prog, ask metropolis tho, he's more into them than me.

I find them to be as prog as Opeth and (Mid-era) Anathema are. Especially after listening to their Brave Yesterday album a lot this week!

Just listen to the track Scarlet Heavens and you immediately get my point.

Yeah, if bands like Anathema are included, I think Katatonia deserves to be on progarchives as well.

Links to musical projects coming soon!!!
