You know you're a RUSH fan when you think of "A show of hands" as a great album, or even worse, when you think it is the greatest album you ever listened to! |
You know you're a Rush fan when you refuse to rise to such criticism of one of the most seminal live albums of all time , believing the critic to be sadly mis-guided

You know that you're a Rush fan when, no matter what disparaging remarks others say about your favourite band, it will never affect your love of the band.

You know you're a Rush fan when you still love them despite 'A show of hands'

A planet of playthings, we dance on the strings
of powers we cannot perceive,

Blame is better to give than receive... - Freewill
Held Within the Pleasuredome, Decreed by Kubla Khan,
To taste my bitter triumph, As a mad immortal man,
Nevermore shall I return, Escape these caves of ice,
For I have dined on honeydew, and Drunk the milk of Paradise... - Xanadu

The last quotation is the most intriguing.

Ha! Glass Prison is clearly an imposter! A spy in the house of Rush.
Lucas, methinks his world would come into focus if only he could 'begin the day with a friendly voice' or indeed find himself a 'companion unobtrusive'
Maybe his lyrical faux pas, happened because a 'tired mind become a shape shifter'
I'm getting outa here before the 'dragons grow to mighty, to slay with pen or sword'
Aaaaaggghhhh!!!

If you've ever lost sleep thinking they might not put out another album, while debating if the celestial mechanics working on Cygnus hum "Into the Darkness" or just discuss the circumstances.
S.O.H. kicks ass BTW
