Topic: Bring them back together! Posted: May 28 2004 at 15:20 |
Which one of these top 5 bands would you like to put back together just for the kicks out of it and get them to pull together as a team on a brand new album (I'd love they could do it Live!)
Or would you like to see any other band that ain't on this significant little list?

Yeah, I know what you mean! But ever since Tord Lindman left the band to start a promising career within filmmaking at Stockholm it kinda took the band out of track ... and with Anna taking some time out to get back to music school to improve her already impecable way to play (that might take some time before anything happens)... and with Mattias taking charge over the Anglagard website by posting constant promises about a possible "get back" and seeing no clear perspective about it... well... I've already thought of resignation about these Swedish musicians getting back together, but who knows huh? I'd also like to hear something new from them...

That's an interesting yet incredible request...
How long it's been since they took separate ways?

hey, marillion released an album this year, and camel released one in 2002 and now i think they are touring, the two bands shouldnt be on this list, they are still active and in very good shape too
i voted for pink floyd, i wish i could hear their one-of-a-kind music just one more time

Fish + Marillion (no offence to H, but that combination didn't just work, it sparkled!)
Bardens + Camel
Gabriel + Hackett + Genesis
Waters + Pink Floyd
Barlow + Jethro Tull
Morrissey + The Smiths (Yeah, right - like that's ever gonna happen!)
As DoomHammer said, Marillion have only just released "Marbles", and Camel have released an album recently that sounds so Camel-like it only needs Bardens' organ for a full-on masterpiece to emerge.
Umm. I think that last bit needs re-phrasing...

Yeah, I know both bands you just mention happen to be together still
But I was talking about meaningful eras such as the Marillion one with Fish and so on...
I know Camel released "A nod and a wink" (quite poor by the way) and this year's Marillion recording, "Marbles"; mmm... I just didn't like it

Re Camel + Bardens
Sadly, Bardens died of lung cancer in January 2002.

I had the chance to see Pink Floyd once and The Walll in Berlin, so my obvious choice would be Genesis (Gabriel & Hackett of course, but if Steve doesn't wants, call Tony Phillips, no way I would go to see the tree men lineup) which I never saw except for the Invissible Touch Touur which was crap.

Yet another 'Big 5'-oriented thread. Yawn!
I'd definitely like to see ELP back together, but the best Yes lineup is back together! Camel just recently called it a day as far as touring is concerned. As for the others...it would just be going through the motions.
Myself, I'd love to see Twelfth Night back together, even with Andy Sears (R.I.P., Geoff), but only if they returned to the early '80s sound, none of that late '80s crap that buried the band.
And GOBLIN...Simonetti/Morante/Pignatelli/Marangolo/Guarini...oh , yeah! Now we're talkin'!
A Flame Dream reunion would be awesome, but again, it would have to be the lineup from the 2nd and/or 3rd albums ('79-'80), before they sold out later in the mid-80s!

Maybe we can get a Lazarus job for Mozart so he can write just one more symphony.
Or HEY, let's bring Dave Chase back from the dead so we can get one more CHASE album.
Or we could hold a seance and see if Miles Davis will give us some new charts from beyond the grave!

Right... and I thought the suggestion about bringing ABBA back together was the toughest one to accomplish in this thread... but this, this is far beyond imagination…
How ‘bout the Gabriel’s GENESIS, the Water’s PINK FLOYD or Fish’s MARILLION or anyone else that ain’t dead or ghosts? But well, we all can keep on dreaming, can’t we?
(A good one BTW…)
