Topic: Zappa Question Posted: August 14 2005 at 12:51 |
It says in the liner notes to Zappa's One Size Fits All that it was
recorded simultaneously with their next album. I thought that
album was the last one, though, with that particular lineup.
Anyone know which album that is?

That album never happened, but the material was later released on the 'Studio Tan' album.

Studio Tan is a really interesting album, only Lemme Take You To the Beach sucks.

I like that song...very odd for Zappa to do.

I like Lemme Take You To The Beach too. Love the 'Beach Boys-like' vocals.

The Beach Boys were before my time, and I hate their music with a passion. Maybe that explains why my fingers always reach for the skip button when this track is played ...

I don't like The Beach Boys either but it's a good pastiche of their sound I think.

hmmm....well, I, for one, love the Beach Boys.
Pet Sounds is in my mind the first album to fully realize pop as art as
a viable concept. (Revolver and Rubber Soul were almost there).
And Smiley Smile is as weird as anything Frank Zappa ever did, if not as effective.
...and for those who haven't heard Brian Wilson's Smile, get thee to a cd store this moment!
