Yes, because, as we all know, if you don't like Rush, you can't be a prog band. |

Does liking Rush automatically determine whether you are prog or not!?! Claudio may sound like Geddy, but he wasn't influenced by him. As for prog, they're always had various tags applied to them from prog-metal to prog-emo to prog-rock. And, Claudio has always maintained that [quote], "Progressive Rock is the best definition he's been able to find for his group's music." Another quote from Claudio on their sound: "And that's what I think being a Progressive Rock band (means) -- the band doesn't stop with just one style." Edited by spectral |

I want to have a serious talk with whoever made the decision to take
these guys out of the archive. I seriously, seriously find that
rather silly and pandering of whoever did it, and I *implore* then to
seek this band out... remember, Kansas' radio singles were even
less proggy...

You should PM M@x ... you're a knowledgeable person, I think he'll listen. |

I did PM him. He read it right away, several days ago, but he chose not to respond.

That happened to me also ... he's quite busy right now, preparing the new version of the website. Also you don't know that in the collabs area there are many bands being discussed for inclusion, that also adds to his workload. |

Coheed and Cambria certainly do seem to have one prog element, pretentious fans. |

You just seem so intent on proving that this band isn't prog when the opposite has already been proven many times in this very thread. Why not embrace the fact that there are more progressive bands out there for us all to discover? BTW, just so you know, I myself am not a Coheed & Cambria fan. They're in my "recent tracks" sig, but those two songs were my first exposure to the band; I don't know a lot about them and haven't heard their earlier work, but I do know that, from what I've listened to, they're prog and I like them a lot. So, you're saying that people who listen to and enjoy prog-rock are all pretentious then? Interesting conclusion. |

I'm with Man Overboard. There seems to be no reason why C&C keep getting deleted from the archive other than some Admin's close-mindedness. C&C are way more "progressive" than bands like Primus, Dredg, and Queen (the last one I've never considered prog in the slightet). Hell, the archives have Fire Theft listed, a band spawned from the ashes of Sunny Day Real Estate. And SDRE practically invented Emo.....

The Fire Theft appear to be on this site now! Their album isn't emo at all though, very classic rock driven, Yes etc.. Their situation is like that of The Mars Volta; they may have been in an emo band before, but their music now is different. The thing with SDRE is that their final album wasn't emo anyway. I'm with Littlewashu5, if The Fire Theft are on here, then Coheed have to be too!

The new website's up:
http://www.coheedandcambria.com/index2.html You can stream the 'Welcome Home' video here, on Real Player and Quicktime: http://www.coheedandcambria.com/media_scroller.html There's also some wallpapers up featuring artwork from the Dear Apollo graphic novel: http://www.sonymusic.com/artists/CoheedAndCambria/wallpaper/ 2x800.jpg http://www.sonymusic.com/artists/CoheedAndCambria/wallpaper/ 3x800.jpg I'm pretty sure the top picture shows Wilhelm Ryan (the guy with the creepy face), and Mayo Deftinwolf (the guy off to the side). Not sure about the second one. Gosh, the new artist is so much better. |

put them back on, they're progressive if you understand even slightly what they word means relating to music... I can't believe statements like this: "Coheed and Cambria certainly do seem to have one prog element, pretentious fans." Ignorant, uneducated and presumptuous
