Wetton era Crimson gets my vote, though Fripp would never go for it and would write a 10,000 word entry in his diary to explain why, and Bruford has decided to devote himself exclusively to acoustic jazz. Don't know about the other two. The point is, they're all still knocking around, still playing and if you listen to the 73 - 74 live recordings they were the most awesome, near telepathic unit ever, capable of breathtaking improvs and who never played the same song the same way twice. Also, there was never a Red tour, which would justify a 30 years on reunion to make up for it.

On the 23d of july one of my long time wishes will be fulfilled (at least I hope): Van der Graaf Generator in concert in Amsterdam. Did I say that already? Sorry  , just being happy with my ticket. Had to share it. Okay, Chris Judge-Smith will not attend, but the other key members will...
Now I still have a few wishes: ELP live (only saw Mr. Palmer live) and Gentle Giant live.
Aerosol Grey Machine is cool.

Gentle Giant.
I have listened to their albums and I want to see those complexities in
composition and interplay live. I've seen giant on the box, and thought
it was amazing what they were doing. Gary Green is simply amazing.
So I simply want to see them for technical reasons

It's not on the list..........but I'd like to see ELP......I never saw them live 
I heard they refused to play at the Isle of Wight Festival this year!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I went for Caravan, since I've never seen them live. Although I started to discover their music in the late 70's, it was only really in the 90's that I came to really appreciate what I heard.
The CTTE line up is effectievly the Yes which currently exists, only the drummer differs, and White has been playing the music from that album for far longer than Bruford. Anyway, a drummer is a drummer is a drummer..

although id love to see the ctte line up again. white does a incredible job and i think that white did a better job on relayer then i think bruford could. relayer needed a more solid drummmer more then a aggresive pummiling drummer. id go with gg. i would love to see them

Yes from CTTE.... what they achieved here is unspeakable, and to see them live would be incredible. Seeing Bill Bruford, who could be the greatest drummer ever, would be unforgettable. Squire, as the best bassist in rock, Howe, as one of the great guitarist of prog, Wakeman, the second greatest keyboardist ever (behind Emerson) and Jon Anderson..... you get the picture.

Gentle Giant, because it's such a long time ago that they disbanded. A truly original and exceptional band.

I picked the Yes CTTE lineup 'cause I've seen this lineup in '72. It was my first of five Yesshows.

Definitely the Wetton era Crimson, he was one of the few that could handle the double duty of playing bass as well as vocalist...not an easy thing to do in a group like KC.

Genesis without Peter Gabriel but with Steve Hackett, and of course, with Chester Thompson playing the drums. But I don`t think that Banks, Rutherford and Collins could work again with Hackett. I think that is not easy to see some musicians working together again after they split due to "musical and personal differences". It is like when Harrison and McCartney worked together for the "Anthology" Lennon Demos. I read in the Internet that Ringo recorded the basic tracks with them, and he left Harrison and McCartney alone to record the rest of the instruments and to do the rest of the arrangements for these songs, because he felt some "nervous conflicting attitudes between Harrison and McCartney".
The CTTE line-up of YES, but I don`t think that Bruford could work again with them, particularly with Squire.
The KC line-up of Cross, Fripp, Wetton and Bruford. Their best line-up of the 70s, IMO. But...again, maybe Bruford and Fripp are not going to be very happy working together again, and maybe Cross too with the other three, and Wetton and Bruford after they split in the band "U.K.".
But maybe with the passing of time all these musicians have forgotten their past conflicts and maybe they could be playing together again...who knows?

6th place - Sorry but VGG is just plane ick.
5th place - I've seen them about 4039230592374098235 times, so don't really care about that. The last time I saw them in person was on the Union tour and it was for the most part a let-down. Having to listen to them cover songs from 90125 and after for more than half a show is more than I can handle.
4th place - Wetton's voice sends me running from the room. Plus I have seen them a few times in several lineups. So no need for KC.
3rd place - Only minimaly interested in seeing Genesis without PG. But, I have not seen them live ever (a real tragedy in my opinion) so at least it would make up for that omission.
2nd place - Caravan would be interesting, but they just don't have the catalog of material that pumps them into 1st place. But I do love Richard Sinclairs voice and bass playing. Still couldn't pull the trigger on them though.
AND THE WINNER IS - Gentle Giant. I love GG and have never seen them play. The music is solid throughout their career and the live recordings are super. So this is the clear choice for me.
