One song. One whole song, is that all you can give me. One song.
Signatures eh... Nah I'll pass on one of those.

I'm not a huge fan of C + C, but the similarities between Geddy's voice and this guys voice is pretty hard to miss..

sorry if i came off a little heavy.

Ah, the song surprises me, not as emo as I'd imagined. The music reminds me of mildly progressive metal bands (Metallica Dream Theater etc). But the vocals aren't my thing. For me few people can pull off the whiney voice. Geddy Lee, Cedric Bixler are the only ones I can think of.

But yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised. Cheers Man Overboard.

Only in one song, so Far I have only got them to give me one Geddy sounding song. That is not good enough.

Furthermore, since when was prog about what certain groups preferred?  Potheads love Pink Floyd, are they now stoner rock?  Punks love some Peter Hammill on occasion, is PH/VdGG now punk?  If people'd get over "scenes", they'd enjoy life a hell of a lot more.  I suppose next you'll wanna remove Kansas from the archives because AOR people like a few of their songs.

Futher-f**king-more, most emo kids couldn't tell you sh*t about Co&Ca aside from the two singles.  I know, I've tried to have discussions with several about it.  It's only the proggers who really delve into the whole album and understand the concept.

Why don't you get the album?  As a concept work, it should only be judged as such.  Or would you be content letting someone tell you what they think of Pink Floyd based off of any random track on The Wall?

OK...but to change the subject slightly, who thought it was a good idea to keep them in the archives?

Im just confused as to how you can like Rush but quickly dismiss C and C as emo. Sounds to me like you dont know what you're talkinga bout. as i said im not a huge fan of C and C but i wouldnt call them emo.

I know alot of Rush and like what they do. Myabe it's just me maybe I don't like C&C cause they sound emo to ME. I like Rush I have been listening to them my entire life. if it was the other way round I would probably hate them. I dunno but I know what I am on about.

Signatures eh... Nah I'll pass on one of those.

Publius:  Glad you were surprised.  My comments are more directed towards the general population that would likely not give Simon & Garfunkel a chance if they learned that the indie crowd loves 'em.

I'm just sick of attitudes like that, that look at the surface of things and are too closed-minded to look within.  I don't think it would be possible for someone to give me a good reason why Coheed and Cambria are musically similar to, say, Dashboard Confessional, because those similarities don't exist.  But as long as we're playing that game, there actually IS good emo out there, with progressive tendencies.  Bright Eyes, Cursive, At The Drive-In, the list goes on.

But people seem to have this idea that the only way a band that's acceptable to listen to is one that's claimed by their genre of choice and ONLY their genre of choice.  Hence, so many people sh*tting themselves stupid over what bands are in or not in the archives.

Your opinion. I am open to a hell of alot of music. but Emo. I took one look at it and decided I didn't like it. for what it stands for, for crap music, for scarves in the summer, for stupid hair and for depressed f**ks and decided that I was keeping myself away from everything and anything emo

Sadly, this isn't the first person I've scared away from the forum.

But if she's still reading:  ...your boyfriend's hair is emo.

  Just teasin', mate.

This thread is truly ironic.  On emo boards, a lot of people refuse to discuss Coheed and Cambria because "they're f**king progressive rock".
