I think Vyvyan is pretty funny character. Or maybe I saw the Rush shirt in that one episode...

Neil is really funny! I feel so sorry for him though: a hippy "Lost in a Lost World"*
Oh, and there was that episode where he bemoaned "Oh I hate this band, why don't they play any Hawkwind or Marillion?".

And Jesus said unto John, "come forth and receive eternal life..."
Unfortunately, John came fifth and was stuck with a toaster.

I loved the episode when Neil was (for some reason lost to time) a policeman, bust into the housemates' party and trashed the record player - only to suddenly realise...
"Oh no - Steve Hillage!"

Vyvyan is completely brilliant.
Rik is a wonker.

I guess I don't know WTF you are talking about. The only British show I've ever seen is
KEEPING UP APPEARANCES
My favorite character was ONSLO.

I always thought Mike was a waste of a character; maybe because the other three were such extremes, he just seemed, well, boring somehow... (sorry, Mike)

Mike: Neil, it is very rare you interest me, but today you have. Why do you keep coming in here, carrying a cake, and saying surprise?
Neil: It's my birthday.
Mike: Now you knew that anyway, and we don't care, so where's the surprise?

No love for Mike? Come on, he had some of the best lines.
"Why are you smashing up saucers, Rick? Your prints on 'em? I know just
how you feel, man, you dig? Sometimes saucers used to make me pretty
angry too. Yeah, there's a lot of heads buried at the bottom of the
garden because of a saucer in the works."

Favourite Lines from Neil:
"I'm off to kill myself now...I think I'll come back as a lentil."
(when being approached by the old landlady) "HELP- I'm being hasseled by a chick!"
Vivien:"I thought you were dead!" Neil:"Well you don't have to hassel me about it on the toilet!"
I used to have Neil's Book of the Dead till my brother took it to Germany with him - and Fantastic book it was too
