^ "I know that I do not know."
I'm okay now, by the way. I needed my twice-daily crusty-curmudgeonly rant!
(At my advanced, drooling and doddering age, it's good to be able to do at least something twice daily!)
Welcome, young "newbies!"
Write enough posts and you'll lose the somewhat-less-than-flattering appellation!
(No, Danbo, "appellation" is not a reference to your inbred hillbilly heritage -- look it up!)
Not in the Yellow Pages, you idiot!

Baiting me again, Petey? Or should I say Professor Petey?
Mom said if you keep up the baiting you'll have to wear glasses.
Holy Shiite Batman, I forgot to add CRS to the list, go figure...

Well I was lucky, my father gave me a kerosene record player on my 30th birthday. But I always hated to have to fight those Dinos every single day, just to be able to attend The Gutter University.

Ha! Dinosaurs. Ha, I say!
You ought to have had to try to keep the trilobites and brachiosaurs out of your Edison cylinder collection! Now THOSE were tough times!
Snowstorms. Fooey! We had to walk to school barefoot everyday through freshly broken glass and discarded razor blades. Uphill. Both ways.
And the summers! It was so bad that we couldn't fend of the hordes of Indians because our lead bullets kept melting in the summer heat. We moved from Kansas to Wyoming and back twice in one week just from tornadoes!
The wind blew so hard that one chicken laid the same egg three times!
You young whipper-snappers had it easy!

You were LUCKY!!!
You didn't have to keep feeding 7 dozen parrots, or keep them trained so that they remembered exactly which note to squawk at the right point in the music. If they forgot, you had to stand behind them and pull out a tail feather or two.
Shovelling all those parrot droppings was a nightmare, I can tell you.
Walking on razor blades and glass? LUXURY!!! We had to wade through lakes of raw sewage and sulphuric acid - and swim through the deep bits. Uphill.
Once we'd swam across each lake, we had to shovel it all using collanders and pitchforks into small paper bags and move it 5 miles to the top of the nearest mountain.
And the summers!!! The tar on the roads boiled and bubbled as we pulled the sledges of parrots from gig to gig. Wheels hadn't been invented back then. I can tell you that the sabre-toothed tigers and woolly mammoths were a real hindrance, as we only had spears woven out of the hair from our heads.
Of course, back then, all the continents were joined together, so Kansas to Wyoming was a day-trip for us. We did Newfoundland to Sydney as a matter of course - every morning before breakfast. If we could catch it.
Weather back then was real weather; I remember a hurricane so violent that I passed my cave three times on successive gusts that each blew me the entire circumference of the earth. It made one of my parrots lay a pterodactyl egg. Fried. Sunny side up.
And you tell the kids nowadays - and they just don't believe you...

I can't see too well in my left eye which has gotten worse since the 1990s. My hearing is OK and I could lose about 20 lbs and exercise more, overwise I'm relatively healthy.

Too bad about the eye, Lefty.
One thing I noticed about the weight, If I get too light (190 or less) I have a hard time slammin' dirt bags to the floor. I'm not in bad shape, but a little beef helps in my profession. Since my double elbow surgeries, I've lacked the motivation to run. I do ride a bike, but not often enough to get a good burn going. My main aerobic activity is 12 oz. curls. MMMmmmm, good.

gdub, your posting leaves you wide open (now there's a mental picture I don't need), to crude responses....
"it gets pretty dry now.........."
Don't think about it, Jim, just don't think about it
