Topic: NEW ALBUMS feature Posted: April 13 2005 at 22:07 |
I know that the philosophy of our site is to build a huge archive of prog music that's why, we have been the site with most complete features of prog albums, old and new ones. However, we should help our readers to identify which vintage the albums were released by informing them the year of release at the first time they visit our site. This can be achieved in two ways: First, utilize the blank space at left and right side of our main page to feature RECENTLY released prog albums so that the readers can click directly to see the detailed review. I learn this from www.missingpiece.net website. Have a look, please. Second, in our currently available main page, we put year of release so that readers can see right away is it new or old one. It's probably something like this: (see the RED number in the bracket) GENESIS - The Original Album (1969) — I've got this version of From Genesis To Revelation, this is a reissue version, the track listing is slightly different, well not as good as the other albums, the drumming is not 100% hearable but the tracks I like is "Am I Very Wrong", "The Conquerer", "In The Beginning" and "The Serpent". This album features the first drummers Chris Stewart and John Silver, sadly in 1969 this album only sold 600 - 700 copies via vinyl. Apparently dues to it being stored in the Religious section.
And I think, it would be GREAT if we can combine these two ways.
What do you think???
Cheers,
Gatot

To add the year of release on the main-page reviews sounds good, not nessesary IMO, but all information you can scramble in the limited space, and maintaining readability is ok. and can be helpfull/usefull. Don't really know if the new releases idea would really work, how many new releases should be added to that, how fast should there be new new releases be mentioned (weekly, daily). Interesting enough to take it as a good suggestion IMO anyway. BTW, do you mean newly added to the archives, or new releases by the artist ( I suppose the latter, just checking) I'm not opposed to this suggestions
