'RUSH' in North East England, supported by the fantastic 'Max Webster'. Just like they did in the late 70s. Wonderful it was : and would be again.

I agree with you Main act:  but I would also include "Closer to Believing".. since we have the London Symphony Orchestra... I'd also like to see Keith do "The Three Fates" and "Trilogy" live...

Support act: actually.. who needs one!

THIS IS ELP

What he said. Except I'd go with Dream Theater, Savatage and Yes.

Yes, Rush, ELP, Genesis, Spock's Beard, Dream Theater, and Asia in one big all-out prog festival. I know it would never happen, but I can dream, can't I?

Genesis, FLoyd, Yes, King Crimson, and Rush, with The Mars Volta on a side stage.  That'd be cool.

Alas Max Webster are no more! They tried to reform in 1999,or at least recorded acouple of Terry Watkinson solo tracks, but it came to nothing and Kim Mitchell now works on Canadian TV,but still pursues a music career.Mitchell's solo career easily eclipsed Max Websters and the albums Shaking Like a Human Being and Rockland are superb.Big smile

T'would be a festival starring:

PFM playing nothing but Chocolate Kings (with Lanzetti singing & Pagani fluting)

Meanwhile elsewhere....

In the Outer Space Tent:

Can featuring Bob Fripp

Amon Duul I & II (featuring Bob Fripp because he cant work with Can)

Brian Eno vs Klaus Schulze (with a possible guest appearance by some members of the Duuls and probably Bob Fripp who has divided them into little tribes and set them against each other)

In the Rotten Tomato tent:

Greg Lake & Pete Sinfield singing about how the world is soooo bad

Depeche Mode featuring Keith Emerson ("...I just cant get enough" - no leather trousers though, its a vegetarian festival)

Marillion featuring the artist formerly known as Derek Dick (LAVender Blue Dilly Dilly...I mean...)

Special seminar:  Phil Collins Meets Elton John to discuss songwriting techniques for Disney films.  (Presentation will last approx 3 minutes)

Extra special seminar: Roger Waters gives a special talk to Prog Archives members on whether Floyd IS actually progressive rock (Presentation will last approx 2 minutes, with 14 days allocated for meaningless questions...)

Hurl that rotten fruit Eugene...

In the Blue Corner Tent:

Keith Emerson featuring Greg Lake

Greg Lake featuring Keith Emerson (depending on who has the best lawyers...)

Paul McCartney, and introducing John Lennon

Carl Palmer featuring Cozy Powell

Bob Fripp featuring Bob Fripp

Megadeth featuring some members of Metallica

Rock on...
