Hey that is quick by the standards of some Holdsworth prog albums - Neverwasneverwillbe seems to have been taking a decade and it is a follow up to the great (and hugely obscure) Soma album, released c 1988 - btw I have two white label vinyl versions of that album, which Soma/Neverwasneverwillbe's leader Mark Gleed (aka Laurent) paid me for writing some certain liner notes................

This Friday April 1st, DJ Iggy will be interviewing Ken Jaquess, bass player and songwriter for the new super-group K2 release "Book of the Dead". In addition to Ken, the album features the vocal talents of the late Shaun Guerin, guitarist Allan Holdsworth and Spocks Beard keyboardist Ryo Okomuto. Make sure to join us at 7pm Eastern and come to the chat so you can ask Ken questions. There are some amazing stories associated with the recording of this album and why it took 4 years to finish.

ProgRock Records Artist
K2
K2 is the brainchild of Atlantis bassist/songwriter Ken Jaquess. Beginning with guitar lessons at age 11, and switching to bass at 13, Ken found a desire early on to play unconventional music, far from the path of commercial, radio pop. Newcross (Rain of Thought), Dresden and Atlantis, are just a few of the many bands Ken has had the privilege of performing with. Wanting to explore even deeper into the world of progressive rock, Ken decided to form a new group, write a conceptual album based on the Egyptian “Book of the Dead”, (a subject that holds endless fascination and not yet explored in this genre) and get the best musicians around to play with him. K2 (K squared) is truly a band of unparalleled talent. Joining Ken are guitar great Allan Holdsworth, jazz drummer extraordinaire Doug Sanborn, Spocks Beard keyboardist Ryo Okumoto, violinist Yvette Devereaux and the late, great Shaun Guerin on vocals. “Book of the Dead” is the first of several releases by K2 on the ProgRock label. This is an album not to be missed.
