Ditto. That said, I like Renaissance's first album enough to want to vote for all of the choices. If I were to rank the three I'm voting for at this time: 1. Tangerine Dream 2. The Residents 3. Gentle Giant At one time Gentle Giant would surely have been my favourite band, but I went off them many years ago. I returned to some of the music recently and did enjoy it again, but I don't think I'll ever like the band nearly as much as I once did. The Residents was much more of a slow-burner to get into than the others, although I liked Eskimo from first listen, but I've been appreciating them more-and-more over the years. It's such a different case from Gentle Giant, which I got into immediately, but burnt out on not that long after. The slow-burners do tend to burn the longest, but there are many bands, artists and albums that I have regularly listened to for many years now that I never tired of....

Gentle Giant, Renaissance & Tangerine Dream. The Residents have never really been my thing, but are the only one of the aforementioned I had a chance to see live (and I have to admit, 90% of the time I was bored to death).

GG, TD, R.
As for the Residents to be seen to be most appreciated pretty much negates the point of music. Blind people won't much out of anything that depends on visuals.
Which means most opera, Kiss as well as The Residents. And missing out on on horrendous album covers (kind of a shame) and dreadful '80s pop videos.

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Tough choice. Let's see. Renaissance and TD get in, and the Residents beat GG by a whisker for third rank. Could be different on another day.

When he rides, my fears subside. For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night.

Wouldn't giving everyone a single vote and telling them to vote for their least favorite accomplish roughly the same goal without the ability to break your rules?
