 Topic: Yes Vs. Genesis

I love them both equally. Each was groundbreaking, influential, distinct, and important in my life. They are not in competition for my affection or respect--they both have them in full (much like my children). They are artists, not athletes, so there is no objective criteria to measure their relative merit. A+ bands, for my tastes!

Love both bands but I went with Yes. I feel like their best material was stronger then Genesis best but I can see an argument for both.

I've been playing and singing it all damn week. "A pin up GURU every week!" "More Fool Me" is the track that ruins it's perfection for me.<div style="line-height: 16.5455px;">

Yeah, More Fool Me isn't a particularly memorable song on that album... but it's short and inoffensive enough that it can just pass by without harming my apreciation for it... Battle on the other hand, it's just too annoying and long.

For their entire catalog it goes to Yes. For complete uniqueness I'd opt for Genesis from Trespass through to Wind & Wuthering.

|

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I love Epping too! To me Pinnacleīs of prog from these bands are: Nursery Cryme Foxtrot Selling England Lamb Lies Time and a Word the Yes Album Fragile

Haha, that would've been great. And yeah Grand Wazoo and One Size Fits All just might be his two best albums. Though he has so MANY good ones. Overnight Sensation, Hot Rats, Waka Jawaka, Sheik Yerbouti, Absolutely Free, Burnt Weeny Sandwich.. Too many lol, he's just awesome.
