Yeah, me too, from this list. Masterful album. Great year for jazz, with masterpieces like
Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch! (one of the greatest free jazz albums there is),
Andrew Hill's Point of Departure (ditto, and which features many of the same personnel as on Dolphy's record),
Wayne Shorter's Speak No Evil,
Herbie Hancock's Empyrean Isles, - in fact, all four of these albums contain many of the same personnel! - and other important albums by John Coltrane, Horace Silver, and Kenny Burrell.
Almost tempted to go with the Pink Panther - not for the music, but for the emergence of Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau (although the first great and hilarious Panther film was the sequel
A Shot in the Dark, also released in '64).
