he can play a lot of genres that's true (classical, ambient, celtic folk, hard-rock, jazz-rock, country, blues) but I am still waiting to hear some reggae from him...

Steve Howe. He is one of my favourite guitarists of all time. Plus, his style is just so psychedelic you know... and Yes' 35th anniversary gig in Glasgow was my first gig ever. It was truly an awesome way to come of age and it would not have been possible without him (Steve was seconded only to Randy Rhoads at the time so seeing him was amazing given that for obvious reasons I could not see Randy).
 But, all that aside, you've missed out my other favourite Steve...
Steve Hillage. That man could put you into tantric hippie bliss with any of his solos. Fish Rising is truly wonderous. And his work in System 7 is pretty hot...simply because he, like the Ozric Tentacles, used his magical powers for good causes and thus invaded raves with rock 'n' roll. Star What a guy.

Steve Winwood and Steve Lukather are also good guitar players.
But I stick to the poll: I choose Steve Howe simply because I like his style(s) the most.

I was wondering when this one would come back.  I did it a few years ago, but could not find it through the search engine and definitely included Hillage (who I am listening to right now).  It's tempting to say I voted for Steve.Tongue  Usually I vote for Hackett or Howe but sometimes I vote for Vai.  I almost never vote for Morse (whose work I love) or Rothery (who I find quite good).  Since I thought he needed some luv here, I voted Vai this time.
