Anakin, mainly because after watching 1 and a half seasons, I really couldn't care less about any of the characters on Lost as they all annoyed the hell out of me.

I sometimes joke to my wife that once we get something on DVD, we're doomed to never watch it.  Whenever I suggest watching a DVD, she often says, "why watch that now? we can watch that any time. let's see what's on TV now."  And of course, that "any time" never comes. LOL

I've never watched an entire Star Wars film and have only seen 1 episode of Lost.  That said, suppose I'll through my support behind John Locke based on namesake (who I'm guessing is now, sadly, less famous then this fictional character).

I'm ignoring the OP description because I don't watch lost. I'm going to assume it's the philosopher John Locke and vote for him.

If you start a thread on the actual philosopher John Locke, I'm sure people will respond. I probably would, as much of my history class was on the Enlightenment period.

Not that I'm a huge star wars fan.

Anakin is not so good in the newer movies, but Darth Vader is awesome in the originals.

But if you only watched the last 2 seasons of Lost, you haven't seen enough of the real John Locke, most of what you see is Fake John Locke (Flocke). The last 2 seasons are much more exciting to see Locke in action if you've seen the other seasons, it all makes more sense.

Either way he's the real Terry O'Quinn

That's what makes it all extra awesome Cool

I must also say, that, Hayden Christenson's portrayal of Anakin Skywalker just makes him look like a crybaby, and I didn't find much of his acting very good, whereas Terry O' Quinn (John Locke) is a much better actor, and you could really feel his pain, or any other emotion he conveyed.

That is where they got the name, they even joke about it in one episode. Locke used an alias for a little while in the show, Jeremy Bentham, also another philosopher.

Ive seen the whole show, most of which when the episodes were first premiered. I'm merely doing a re-watch. You can talk about whatever you want, this thread is naturally going to have spoilers.

I think John Locke's character arc is most tragic. You said much of what I would have said. The 6th season is crazy because it's just not John Locke, but The Man In Black, who had been doing that with previous dead people, but he used Locke to his advantage, basically using him (and Ben, who also pushed John to believe he had to die in order to save the island) as a pawn in his plan to kill Jacob and leave the island

Anakin's is tragic, sure he may have been a little selfish and whatnot, but it's still tragic, especially because he hurt those close to him (Pademe, Obi-wan, etc..). He does redeem himself and is brought back to the light side at the end of Return of the Jedi, so he does have somewhat of a happy ending.

John Locke just dies.

I vote for John Locke. I was always interested in the idea of Tabula Rasa in high school. Wait, what the hell is Lost?
