Motorhead are indeed a brilliant band! Yes, a lot of their songs sound the same, but so what. So do AC/DC's, and they're amazing too.

"Assasin" from "Snake Bite Love" album is a great track!

Nothing wrong with motorhead!  simplistic and loud... certainly, but also amazing.  no one could ever accuse motorhead of selling out... they've been plugging ahead with the exact same sound for 30 years!  definitely a hard rock institution.

as for slipknot.... they have a good drummer... the other 8 of them are crap.  they got too big too fast and it went to their heads, plus their fans are rabid and violent people.

Count this Owl as a Motorhead fan too! Whenever I need a good laugh or a shot of adrenaline, these guys do it every time for me, especially after I've been exposed to really bad New Age/Smooth Jazz music (which I detest soooooo much!). Some fave tunes are, of course, "Ace of Spades", and also "Bomber", "Damage Case", "Eat The Rich", "Rock 'n Roll" and more!

For sheer kick-ass laughs, the first Dead Kennedys album ("Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables") works really well for me too, I mean, how could you NOT laugh at hilarious kick-butt rock 'n roll gems like "Let's Lynch The Landlord", "Drug Me" and "Stealing People's Mail" and their side-splittingly hilarious rendition of "Viva Las Vegas" with a few "lyrical alterations" by Jello Biafra?

People are puzzled why I don't dig the Stones, well, I listened to the Stones, I tried, and I tried, and I tried, and--I Can't Get No Satisfaction!

Guilty secret?! Put aside your guilt right now. Motorhead are a British institution and there's absolutely no reason to feel guilty for liking them. A fine band. Nothing wrong with a bit of rock 'n' roll played on eleven.

I use to like Motorhead, but after people/radio/tv playing Ace of Spades to death... I've lost interest. I find all Motorhead songs sound the same.

None-the-less I own 7 of their albums.

Also, Slipknot fans should do better to stay in the closet.
