Vespero`s new album “Shum-Shir” is out now!

“...Shum-shir is an ancient Ethiopian ceremony. Every 10 years the tribal elders and shamans chose a new Nəgusä (King) for the entire tribe. They kindled fires of eucalyptus leaves and twigs. They added secret drugs and inhaled the smoke from fires, bursting into endless dance for all night.. The cleansing flame towering above the ancient trees and spirits of the tribes - Isidore, Gully and Gaya descended from heaven. They indicated who would become the new Nəgusä in the morning .At dawn, this man would indue himself in white robes with the sound of the heavenly Hapi drum. And the tribe began a new life ... "

"Shum-Shir" is second part of “Abyssinian Tales” (first -”Lique Mekwas” was released as CD on R.A.I.G. In 2016 ).


Fully instrumental psyche-kraut-rock with ethno ifluences.

We have a great news!!! LP version of "Azmari" will be release on Golden Pavillion Records ! This vinyl edition will include 3 extra track not available anywhere else. Limited to 200 copies in black vinyl and 100 in special green/white splatter vinyl. More info soon!

"Azmari: Abyssanian Liventure" is a new live album from the VESPERO`s "Liventure" series. Recorded live on 05.15.2015 at "The Union of Theatre Artists", Astrakhan, “Azmari” shows the power of live performances of the septet. Contains the highlights from "Lique Mekwas" (R.A.I.G., 2016) , stuff from “Droga” (R.A.I.G., 2013) and “By the Waters of Tomorrow” (R.A.I.G., 2010), and one yet unpublished composition.

"Lique Mekwas" is the 7th studio album by VESPERO, their 1st one performed as a 6-piece ensemble comprising Ivan Fedotov (drums, percussion), Alexander Timakov (drums, percussion), Arkady Fedotov (bass, synthesizers), Alexander Kuzovlev (guitars, electric piano), Alexey Klabukov (keyboards, synthesizers), and Vitaly Borodin (violin). It’s all instrumental musical burlesque combining the elements of prog-rock, space-psychedelia, jazz-fusion, and world-beats. The album tells a story of a young man who was appointed to serve the Crown Prince of Abyssinia as a guard-impersonator, and after the years of hard trials and adventures got to know that he had always been a true King of his country. Recorded and mixed by Alexander Kuzovlev; mastered by Tobias Svensson. Original artwork image by Alexander Zhelonkin. (7 tracks - 75 min.). have not had the chance to hear this yet, but ... seeing so many different things put together in these comments ... all I can think of is ... a mess!
 
Scary! Hopefully it will be better than that, but I find it weird that we can only describe music by using someone else's .... I don't see anyone describing Bartok by using Stravinsky or Beethoven ... just plain weird!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
