Sorry, Jeff, no offence. And Dean, i was not trying to imply anything regarding the way you assess and deal with problems, no offence taken. I just assumed that it cost you extra time and effort, and felt i was to blame for reporting something that was not even a problem. Anyway, sorry about all this.

Hi,
I see what you mean , in that when a new post is added, all of the posts are updated and reflect the new number
Sorry if i was confused J-man, i don't think that qualifies as annoying, does it?

P.S. I am sorry if my confusion caused any moderators any excess work or headaches-as far as i can tell, i think things are ok-all's well that ends well!

Post

EDIT: Both of my posts have the same post count - the post count is based on your total number of posts.

Of course, it matters. Like anybody ,i would like to be able to see a running tally of how many posts i have made, and other people could see as well.
Not a serious problem, but a problem.

Now, after posting this, all of my posts in this thread have the same number of posts listed (997)
Please, i still need some help

If there's truly a problem, how will any of us expect to catch up with Tony?
Ask me nicely?

note: "nicely" involves used bank notes in large denominations wrapped in brown paper and deposited in a left-luggage locker in Waterloo Station by noon on Friday, the key is then sent by UPS to a predetermined address where it will be collected by a left-handed flautist from the BBC Symphony Orchestra, who will hand-deliver it to the UPS depot at  Southampton Docks for collection by the captain of a Liberian Tanker with a wonky eye and penchant for peaches poached in Madeira wine..

Okay, but no left-handed flautists.

I had a bad experience.  Disapprove

Sorry, i do not know how to link someone to a thread.
Good news is that when i started this thread, the post number was counted and added.
P.S. but after posting this, it was not counted and added to my total-this post reads 996, which is what the first post when i started this thread was numbered.

So it isn't the thread, it is an issue with your account. Hmmmm..........M@X!

I remember this was reported before and it was affecting only certain users. But I thought it was solved at the latest server upgrade.

In a thread i created recently, Great Conductors of Germany in the 30s and 40s, there are several members, including me, who have posted several times, but the number of posts is not recognised in each post.
For example, each of my posts has the same number of overall posts counted, instead of each post submitted being counted and added on.
Could someone help with this, please?
                    Thanks!    presdoug
