They're not acronyms. LASER and RADAR are, but DDoS isn't.

I ended up cleaning out a closet, since I had nothing better to do with PA offline , and found some old cassette tapes I had made 25yrs ago.....My cassette deck died a yr ago so I busted out the Sony boom box, also in the closet. I was a pretty good mix DJ turns out! Played some stuff I no longer have the vinyl for........made a list of vinyl to look for now.

More like a server issue if PA and MMA were offline

You would think people had better thnkgs to do than cause websites to go offline for a few hours. Time wasters are stupid, hackers doubly so. What sense is there in it and what do they get out of it?

Oh yes, they can do it, and they can do it to bigger and better protected sites than PA. |

Denial of Server Attack - basically, hackers overload the server so it can't respond normally, forcing it offline.

I sent this message off but no one saw it:
Hi guys
I cant access the progarchives website all day, and I wonder if its still active or if there is a major problem with the IP or what... same applies for MMA, just nothing there! Can anyone enlighten me as to what is happening? Scott (ACR) |

I was going mad trying to get online... all evening I had no contact and even the metalmusic archives was completely down!... whats going on there?
I guess they are linked but its weird. So it wasnt the Nazis?
Anyway glad its back but it made me think of what we take for granted, and life without the PA was rather upsetting....
