Marillion.

I prefer Queen but that is just because I don't care for Marillion post-Fish. If they had stayed together Marillion would now be among the great.

Queen by miles. Misplaced Childhood is good though.

MArillion and Queen have played at gigs together, not just that one, which to me indicates that the music appeals to similar audiences.  I had not read that Queen was influenced by Marillion, just my impression, but looking up wkipedia just now, which I know is not the most reliable resource, it mentions Queen being an influence:

"The early works of Marillion contained Fish's poetic and introspective lyrics melded with a complex and subtle musical tapestry to create a sound that reflected the band's influences, notably Queen, early Genesis, Pink Floyd, Van der Graaf Generator, Rush (specifically from the late 1970s), and Yes. I'm not sure why you don't at least consider Marillion AORish.  I could see both bands have albums reviewed in a melodic rock/ AOR website.
