Cynic certainly deserve tons more recognition than they get. Still, although I'm not claiming my mind makes sense, 'Focus' is only slightly better than most DT albums. |

Or if it had been properly engineered. I have the same problem with the Psychotic Waltz albums. Maybe I'll give the re-releases a spin (or two |

Also add 'The Colour Of Spring'. Well, it was'nt a mistake. The color of spring is a nice album and a huge step from pop to prog for that band but the two I mentioned are so much more strong. beautiful and complete I can not put them in the same level. this is only my opinion ! |

Focus wouldn't have sounded that bad if only Masvidal had learned how to sing. |

Anima (from Argentina) - s/t, one of the best neo-prog album ever, with beautiful female vocals Babylon - s/t, US-based band that sounds like Genesis with hints of fusion Diabolos in Musika - Natural needs, a blend of crossover and metal-prog, they really kick ass Affinity - s/t, jazz-rock with female vocals Ezra winston - 'Ancient afternoon', neo-prog with pastoral moods due to the use of acoustic guitar and flute Matraz - 'Gritaré', a metal-prog band led by a female vocalist (which is rather rare in this kind of music, and don't tell me that Gathering or Nightwish are metal-prog bands)

I saw mention of Circus - Movin On and Locanda Della Fate's 1977 album, both awesome.
Would add Pekka Pohjola - Harakka Bialoipokku (one of the best prog/fusion albums I've heard) Moongarden - Roundmidnight (Great mix of modern rock stylings with Camel-esque prog, I could ALMOST see this getting US airplay) Moving Gelatine Plates self titled (Very jazzy, If In Like Flint had a prog soundtrack; this would be it) |

Green Horizon - Wow! That's nice. Bones Of Things - Very Nice. Soothing, but not sleepy. Reminds me of windchimes. Games Without End - A lot like Bones Of Things and Green Horizon. Ditto BOT review. I like this band very much. Good sounds, good mix. Very professional. All three songs are very similar, but thats ok because they are instrumental and can be taken to be three movements on a theme. |

Harmonium should be more famous then they are worldwide. They are well known in Québec, but that's all. There's also Cerulean Blue by Rain, which came out last year I think. Octavarium and Mars Volta get all the attention of progger, and that album is just awesome. |

Talk talk - Spirit of eden & Laughing stock - beautiful and gets little attention here. robert Wyatt - Rock bottom & Old rottenhat - masterpieces. Rock bottom is one of the greatest album ever made and I ca'nt understand how come so many of you neglect it. Tri atma - Instead of drugs - An indian jazz rock band. lovely album. |

All those other albums (Despite being great), but more less standard Heavy Metal albums... "P&M" is IMO their proggiest album, and my favourite. "Wake Of Magellan" is also amazing. As is "Power Of The Night". |
