But remember to look at WHEN they did this ... and realize that being original and together to create what they did was a phenomenal achievement. I don't even like to compare this band to anyone else, because it just isn't fair, although I like to group them with things like HELP YOURSELF, NEUTRONS, BYZANTIUM, CAPABILITY BROWN and the like, mostly because of their special way to put together music. There is no pretense with this band, like YES had, for me.

Just got a couple of their albums. Reminds me of a crossover between Yes, Greenslade and Stackridge. Nothing horrible about them at all.

Well, we had better both go and buy tickets for their 2011 tour, then!

Hi,
Still have that album, and ... love listening to it ... and "To The Urban Man" is excellent and should be heard. I kind of remember this is super nice folk/rock like thing, but would have to re-listen to it, in case I mis-worded it.

I remember seeing Wally at the Crystal Palace Garden Party, 1974. Well... I say "remember", but to be honest I don't remember anything of their set - although I was definitely there!
From memory, the complete line-up that day was:
Wally
The Winkies
Gryphon
Procul Harum
Leo Sayer
Rick Wakeman
I do remember being slightly disappointed to learn that "Wally" and "The Winkies" were two different bands, because we had misread the poster as "Wally and the Winkies", which sounded a much more interesting name
