I have changed the details of Leg End, what do you think?

I have asked people to move their Henry Cow reviews, so far one person has, but I'm worried about this Leg End (Original Mix). Seems a perfect one to go to an Alternative release category.

I stand behind Snow Dog on this one.
What is the problem it would create with Yes? I mean, aside from the fancier remaster versions with the bonus tracks, which could not be included as a different version according to current rules, why would having a subcategory as handy as "Alternative Releases" bungle Yes?

Certainly Ian's suggestion would clean up The Beatles and Henry Cow, but could make a total mess (well a different kind of mess) of Yes and still not help Rick Wakeman very much. I think it would also invite too many unsolicited additions of albums with regional bonus tracks. Just about every release now-a-days comes as a limited edition digipak and from a collector's point of view it would be nice to have those documented separately. |
Yes but with bonus tracks we would do as now, and add the info to the basic album release, making only the one entry into the database.

Also, I would vote to put in the EPs/singles/fan club/etc. category another listing, something like "alternate versions." That way, English copies of PFM's releases don't confuse the heck out of everybody who doesn't speak Italian in addition to their English--and that way the Roine Stolt Mixes will have somewhere they actually belong.
I have lots of mildly helpful but likely incredibly problematic ideas to share. Sorry.

I have suggested already...Boxsets, compilations and Alternative Releases.
What do you think?

These were the original LP mixes that were reissued by ReR a few years back. Prior to that there were alternative mixes of Leg End, Unrest, and In Praise of Learning that were issued by East Side Digital in the early 1990s. I've only heard the two versions of In Praise of Learning and I can attest that they are quite different.

Thanks.

I understand Dean, but is a long and bothersome process. Can't M@x come up with something so you can move them?

We just need to ask those people who reviewed them to resubmit their reviews to the proper ablum. I'm not so bothered by the ratings only as several are duplicated on both versions.

I'll check it out later!
EDIT.
Just realised that I noticed this a few days ago myself. Problem is reviews again.
But it is such a shame. Ruins the dicography completely.

Because I don't know where else to put these (and because the original intent of the thread wouldn't hurt to be bumped), there are three duplicate studio albums on Henry Cow's page--and they only had four studio albums in the first place.

I'm sure plenty of people have seen this before, and some may have commented. Are they staying for any good reason? I think they should be consolidated with the original release pages. I'm willing to do the modification for the albums' track listing and release notes if someone with proper pull does the rest of the legwork (provided, of course, that existing reviews don't bar them from doing so).

^ Just noticed that we couldn't move some of the reviews and ratings even if the facility were there - some people have reviewed/rated both versions.
