I only have frames and the psych elements are few; I can hear a lot of POST ROCK and bits of heavy prog but in my dictionary they are considered post rock. Frames is a great album!

To be honest I prefer their newer direction and yes, they should be in heavy prog.

Yeah, they should really be switched to the 'heavy prog' category to avoid confusion. They do have some spacey elements, but not enough to be dubbed a space-rock or psychedelic band.
They are, however, a great group of musicians and perhaps you should listen to the album again with the new mindset that they're not intending to produce psychedelic music.

As russellk says their debut does have it's spacey sections combined with that heavy alternative sound.Even the second one "Everyone Into Position" but less so. "Frames" is my least favourite. Your right though,it's tough to make a case for them being a Psychedelic band.

I suspect the categorisation of this band came from their debut 'Efflorescence', but since then they have de-emphasised any space-psych leanings and gone on to metal with a healthy dose of post-rock. I infinitely preferred their debut over the subsequent albums.
You know, I wouldn't lean too heavily on genre classification. Many of the best bands either straddle genres or change from one to another during the course of their careers. Read the reviews before you buy :)

Hahaha, yeah, I hear you. They should probably be in Heavy Prog. It's not great but there are a couple of tunes that I've enjoyed by them.
"heavy Oasis" :P

...as everyone else, or do I just have a different definition of psychedelic rock?
I'm two songs into their "Frames" album, and I really can't hear a hint of psychedelia and definitely no spaciness. It sounds like some commercial metal. I mean, Opeth is more spacy than this so far. I want to keep going to see if this 4 star psychedelia shows itself, but I'm having a little trouble stomaching this blaring, uninspired sound. I mean, it sounds like heavy Oasis or something!
