Another fantastic collage capturing the essence of progenitors of Canterbury, Gentle Giant. I like the use of the water how the Octopus lurks beneath and the severed hand rises as a phoenix threatening to snatch the band from the stage. The Giant with band in hand is like a monument and looks as iconic as the band's imagery on their albums. The concert photos are great but I particularly like the lighting like lasers cascading down from the heavens.
There is not as much color this time but the band were never into colorful covers when you consider them. I would have liked to have seen the inclusion of the 'Acquiring the Taste' tongue and 'The Missing Pience' jigsaw piece somewhere as they are great albums. However, the inclusion of 'Power and the Glory''s king is subtle and works well.
Impossible to fault when you consider how much trouble you have gone through to make this an amazing original tribute to the band.
edit: Wow I just looked again and the missing jigsaw piece was there in the Giants head! - I missed that - devilishly clever! | collages
Man! great and elavorate description of the collage. thanks for giving a tasteful meaning! wow! you got it! that was some sort of the idea.
Thanks.... you have no idea the hours that i spent brain storming and collection ideas of where and how I am going to use the albums covers and images. There had been times that i spent hours cleaning, editing and cutting out pictures and at the end I don't even use it or like it. With The acquiring Tonge image I had a hard time finding the right place for it. but it there. It isn't really visible, but it there. It is by right next by the power and glory image and in the water righ by the center, it isn't really visible but I least I used it. Also named the collage Acquiring the Giant's taste as tribute to the great album, which was my very first GG album I got in the early 90's and it is still one of my favorite. I love the first 3 song, Prog at its best.
Ah!! Also let me tell you buddy about my collages I like to play with people mind. I like to hide images or made them hard to find. In some collages i used over 50 images. Maybe one simple tittle thing from one particular image. So next time take a real close LOOK! and most people won't even noticed sometimes after while,
Thanks… you are great and I always appreciate you great comments as well. |
No problem at all. I love looking at the collages and always look forward to them. Thanks for brightening my day!

My pleasure !

Here are the areas which I previously commented on (I somehow doubt these lines were done purposely). If you fixed this up, I think it would be my favourite collage thus far!

Sorry to slow down your rolling thunder darksideof... but I thought I would point out some things (just so you can add to its beauty!)
C&C: Around the borders of the band member's face's (along the top), you can see distinct lines of where the original photo ended, and it doesn't fade very well. I personally think it would look nicer if it blended all together (but maybe that's how you wanted it?)

ooooH I think I saw it. it is by Ray picture? thanks. I just fixed it....

I would have said The Wilde Flowers.
Anyway, great collage. Very nice.

no that is fine I like to get positive criticism of my work, but I don't see anything. Believe me I don't stop until I am satisfy and I am very careful blending pictures. if there arelines they were all intentionally done. Thanks...
