I gave it two listens so far and I must say the title track is great, but the second disc sucks

Tracks like Remember me lover are so un-natural in its structure. The metal part feels so forced.. it just does not go together well with the rest of the song, not flowing right. That's how this album sounds to me in many parts...forced. This is the first time I'm not interested on buying a new PT album

Interesting. As far as I can tell, the overriding sonic signature of The Incident is the sound of barrel bottoms being scraped. I know cranking 'em out helps pay the mortgage but c'mon... And paying such a hefty "homage" to 'Sheep' is neither big nor clever.

I'm still waiting for The Incident to measure up to be one of their best. Right now, it isn't fairing so well. The 55minute epic is a huge disappointment. It is nothing more than a bunch of songs forced together, no nice segue between any song really. The second CD is better, yet still hold no big punch. I'll take all releases, Signify and forward over it at this time.
But to give benefit to doubt, it took me over a year to really get into In Absentia, which is a 5 star release.

This is the lowest PT album.........
I'm sorry but I like every PT album more than The Incident. I think it's quite uninspired in some parts. Tracks like Drawing th Line or Your Unplesant Family are average at best.
Occam's Razor is really a bad intro, no much sense.
Lowest PT closing track with I Drive the Hearse..this song never seems to take off...plua it ends fading.. evidene IMHO that Wilson was kind of short on fresh ideas for this record.
I hope this album will be only an "incident" on the band's carreer.

got my deluxe edition from tonefloat today, 2lp with a nice book with photographies, similar to Stevens solo deluxe album. I'm certainly gonna have some quality time next to the stereo tonight :)

Well, given that their work is quite varied, you should try listenting (Youtube is your ally) to everything to be honest. None of their albums are like the previous ones. Don't just listen to FOABP and Deadwing and then cast them off as just another metal band.
Trust me.

So your point of posting here was to say you don't like PT. Right?
|
No, i've tried to listen to some of their stuff because I value the opinion of others on here & I just can't get into it, that's all

What do you mean "the big deal"?
May I ask, what albums do you own/tracks have you heard?

I'd love to have a deluxe edition, but I'm going to buy it from my local chain store, OK Purchase, on the day when it comes out. They discount new releases. I did a special advance order for Deadwing. It showed up way too long after the release day. I was jonesing for it so I had to go out and buy a copy from the chain store anyway on the release day. Then I had to go and buy another version for the bonus tracks. Eh, enough with that. Still a big fan of S.W. but there are other artists out there and the funds for music are short these days.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

There were 1,000 copies of the special edition available in the U.S./Canada. Anyone know how many were available for the rest of the world?

Please, please take the prints out of the cover........... they're awful......... not as horrible as the one's on deadwing anyway ( those look like aggro-metal-band-linking-park or something)..

WHAT? I think you should take a look at Lasse Hoile's work... http://www.lassehoile.com/
I can't f**king wait for this album, hope it leaks soon
|
i meant, take the words, letters..etc (sorry english is not my first language, nned to improve my vocabulary :-S) just leave the thing like your avatar. I love the cover art without band name or album title. Being the deadwing cover the one that suffers the most of terrible "band name/title" design in the whole PT catalogue. Fortunately i have the hardback book edition with the clean cover
