Topic: My Top 10 Prog rock bands Posted: October 14 2009 at 01:13 |
The great thing about Progarchives is that you make all kind of new discoveries... So I'll go quickly before I discover a new band that will f**k my top 10 up, here it goes:
(no order)
The Flower Kings
Phideaux
Beardfish
Marillion (Fish-era)
Porcupine Tree
Jethro Tull
Pink Floyd
Riverside
Queensryche (early stuff)
Gentle Giant

Et je ferme les yeux
Puis je croise les doigts
Pour empêcher
Les souvenirs de fuir.

I find it very difficult to do this, so this is a bit of a cop out. I'll go with my top 10 played bands as per LastFM.com........
1 Camel 2 Jethro Tull 3 Dream Theater 4 Phideaux 5 Pink Floyd 6 Ayreon 7 Eloy 8 Le Orme 9 Goblin 10 Porcupine Tree
Not completely representative I must admit, as Dream Theater are in their, mainly due to my liking of Scenes From A Memory, and Ayreon principally due to The Human Equation. Genesis would have to find a place in the top 10, guess I've just not been playing them so much recently.
