D.O.A. $7 for album download

   Why can't prog bands put out their stuff like that. I read about the new DOA release - Northern Avenger, went to SuddenDeath.Com. Ordered the download, paid through paypal with my Visa. 24 hours later, voila - 320 bit rate mp3s, and booklet for 7.63 ($7 converted to CAD). 
Would PFM sell more albums over here in North America doing this ? Especially in this day & age where labels just aren't giving out major advances or interested in financing a group's recordings.
