Modern 2112 (or Tarkus, for you ELP lovers ... wierdos)

Side A

1. Four Egos, One War - The Tangent (21:15)

Side B

1. Beneath The Surface - Tiles (5:00)
2. Party - Phideaux (5:17)
3. The Truth Is In Here - Ayreon (5:12)
4. The Hunter - Beardfish (5:57)

Side-long for the first side. Not a rock-opera piece, but a strongly conceptual one anyways. The second side starts with a hard rocker, moves onto something more subtle but unsettling. From there it moves onto the obligatory slow song (for which I chose something more folky and less slow than most obligatory slow songs are). It ends with another hard and unforgettable rocker.

The End

1. Supper's Ready-Genesis
2. Close to the Edge-Yes
3. Shine on you crazy Diamond-Pink Floyd
4. The Neckromancer-Rush

I already did something like this a few years ago and it was something like:

1. Western Desert-Cairo
2. Devine wings of tragedy-Symphony X
3. Subterranea-IQ
4. Impact 1 (Fate Speaks) - Explorers Club

It was one of my favourie discs and I played it a lot !

Well the title is not quite clear...

Here's the point, you must choose one album from the 70's or 60's or 80's from Prog, and with songs from Prog from now on, 90's and 00's, you must make a "new version" of the old, classic albums.

Here's an example to understand:

Tales from Topographic Oceans from the 00's:

1.I am the Sun (pt 1 and 2) - The Flower Kings 25 min
2.All of the Above - Transatlantic 30 min
3.The World We Drive Through - The Tangent 18 min
4.Truth Will Set You Free - The Flower Kings 31 min

As you see, it's the same amount of songs as the original and the length of each track is quite similar, excesive.

You can also make an entire album from one band that you consider to be (eg) the DSOTM of now on or whatever.

I hope it's clear.
