this is not up for discussion since.. if I may be blunt...  only several people here have really shown the ability to discuss a group on it's merits without descending into the dreaded 'if x then y' and all kinds of histrionics all the while never saying what, and why,  they think of the group.   Personally I'm sick of it.  As Ivan's poll on Proto Kaw... this is not binding.. but to satisfy curiousity and two.. to announce that Steely Dan has been approved for addition.. however what we are interested in... is where they might fit best.

Steely Dan is a hard one.. but arguments can made for all 3 subs.  So discussion is sort of pointless.. since they have already taken place. .that is why all 3 subs are under consideration.  Steely Dan was approved for Xover.. but the team felt that was the best fit.. that it might be J-R.. however we are aware they may not want to take them.  Not fitting the traditional idea of J-R.  IF the J-R team wants SD.. they will be moved immediately.

PR is an option ..  but to be honest.. they fit better in Xover since they fit every criteria of Xover prog.. the negative being.. they are not known as a prog group.  That .. means nothing to me .. or to us.  If that was what mattered.. the site would fire the various genre teams.. and add only those groups 'known' to be prog.  Since prog was known to have died in the late 70's and been English.. not American we can trim the database by 50% in addtion to firing the genre teams.  So my point is.. after evaluating the music.. not a name.. we believe the complex, meticulously constructed and thought out music.. with incredibly intellect and obtusce lyrics typical of prog. Virtuosity worthy.. in fact.. surpassing many prog groups.  And a frim desire to bring artistic standards to music... not sell out stadiums or go for the next top 40 single.. even though they did in spite of  themselves is worthy of addition here.

So.. if you have a vote ... vote...  if the forum thinks Xover is the better fit.. we'll keep them there.... if not.. they will be offered to J-R as soon as we add them and suffer the slings and arrows of the pious.
