I've only have "Midnight Mushrumps" and that's a very fine album as well as being quite unique.

I'm certainly with you on 'Red Queen to Gryphon Three', I've been a fan of that album for...oh, say 300 years? Feels like it, anyway.
In fact, when it was fairly new, I was so impressed that I got the rest of their catalogue, only to be quite disappointed in the material in comparrison to 'Red Queen'. Doesn't take the shine off this one in any way though. One of the all-time great albums. |
I agree with you to an extent, though I like all of their work... for me "Red Queen" and the title track of "Midnight Mushrumps" are simply perfection.

I have been pushing Red Queen as a top 20 all-time prog album , for , ohhhh, 28 years now or so.....Original, fresh, wild, bouncy, evocative. I even played this to "serious" music fans who were spellbound !!!!!!!! Gulland/Nestor/Oberle/Taylor/Harvey rule !
Also, dear Rush-Mag , Gryphon has announced that a new album is in the recording process (See the PA thread on it) and Red Queen seems to be the mold they will use. How is that!

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

I've been absolutely obsessed with Gryphon's "Red Queen to Gryphon Three" today, which is one of my all-time favorite albums. How about it? Who else here is a huge Gryphon fan? Also, I can't wait to hear their new album when/if it is coming out soon. Easily one of the most unique and talented bands out there... too bad they didn't release more stuff.
