See posts of Kim Ankara and Souldreamer (link to dprp). That's a nice list but like Souldreamer said: it's not complete. Here some additions:

Marching II - Christian Richet (27.53)
Floydian Memories - Shadow Gallery (24.36)
Love is the only answer - The Flower Kings (24.28)
Trick of the mind - Magic Pie (21.50) (or if you wish: Circus of life - Magic Pie (complete epic, 45.44))
Change - Magic Pie (20.04)
Sunchild's spiritual quest through the forest of introspection - Covenant  (19.47) (if you want a real obscure one: this is it !)
Oro Caldo - Osanna (18.30) (stream on progarchives !)
Marvellous Choice - The Gourishankar (18.20)
Spirit - Gary Moore (17.14) recommended !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dream of Stone - Gazpacho (17.00)
Dolls - Afterglow (16.50)
Evening Games - Satellite (16.45)
The past has just begun - Puppet Show (16.41)
In a world - Cryptic Vision (16.23)
Again - Archive (16.19) (stream on progarchives !)
Kratakoa - Lei Seca (16.17) (stream on progarchives !)
Looking for myself - Sandstone (15.20)

I'm sure there are many many more (maybe over 1000 + 15 min. songs) but it least this a start to making it a little bit more complete. Good luck with your ultimate list !

"Haruspex" (24:37) by the Red Masque. A haruspex, by the way, is a person that tells the future from the entrails of sacrificed animals.

Garden of Dreams - The Flower Kings (60 minutes)
Cassandra Gemini - The Mars Volta (30 minutes)
All of the Above - Transatlantic (30 minutes)
Jethro Tull - A Passion Play (40 minutes)
Antonio Vivaldi - The Four Seasons (40 minutes)

some pretty hardcore epic songs for you. Being a proghead you should also like classical music as well it just seems to be the closest thing to prog from the 70s (not counting mahavishnu and santana of course)

On DPRP there is a list. The link is:

It's not complete, but might give some answers.

Edit: Sorry to Kim Ankara, I didn't see you already posted this info...

Maybe we should compile a master list...

As promised, here is my second (arguably more obscure) list.
1.Anglagard - hostsejd
2. Sinkadus - Agren
3. Garden Wall - Chemotaxis
4.Citizen Cain - Somewhere but yesterday
5.Metaphor - Starfooted in a garden of cans
6.Triumvirat - Illusion on a double dimple
7.Cairo - Ruins at avalon's gate
8.Present - Promenade au fond d'un canal
9.Apogee - the garden of delights
10. Grayceon - ride
11.Syzygy - The Journey of Myrrdin
12.Maxwell's Demon - Prometheus (for fans of anglagard, oh yeah!)
13.Ezra Winston - Ancient afternoon of an Unknown Town
14.Nexus - Mirar Hacia el centro
15. Consorzio Aqua Potabile (CAP) - Il Regno
16.Trace - King Bird
17.Far Corner - Fiction
18. Wobbler - Hinterland
19.Mandalaband - Om Mani Padme Hum
20.Bo hansson - Born in the gentle south
21.Quaterna Requiem - Quasimodo
22. Schicke Fuhrs & Frohling (SFF) - Pictures
23. Univers Zero - Ronde
24. Fireballet - Night on bald mountain
25.Midas - Beyond the clean Air

What follows is the obscure epics from my first list that you wouldn't want to miss

26. Mugen - Sinfonia della luna
27. Deluge Grander - Inaugural Bash
28. Banco del Mutuo Soccorso - Canto nomade per un prigionero politico
29. Kaipa - Skenet Bedrar
30. Carpe Diem - Couleurs
31.Latte e Miele - Papillion
32. Par Lindh Project - The Cathedral

There you go! Most of them fall under the symphonic prog idiom, mainly because it's the one I like the most (and have the most cds). Enjoy!

PS. You may also want to check some of the concept compilations that musea has released over the years wich include ONLY epics by a large number of symphonic (mostly) artists. Many of those epics are originals which DO NOT appear in the albums of the artists involved.
Some of these compilations are:
1.Odyssey (the greatest tale)
2.the 7 Samurai
3.The Colossus of Rhodes
4. The Spaghetti Epic

Ahaa!!! Now I understand. I think I have included some more obscure epics in my original list, you clearly want more obsure ones so I will compile a second list during the day. Stay put!
