Cloverfield. Utter waste of 84 minutes. If I can't be scared at all, then it's not the best monster film ever made. I jump when I open a bathroom stall and someone is standing there waiting to take my place.

Yeah, it wasn't near as great as the shorter clips in the Ali G show. I guess we just overdosed. Plus, i always liked Ali G himself more than Borat.

I 'm always standbay when it comes to films. So, i just rent 'Me and you and everyone you know' and i will see it tonight. Tomorrow, i will let you know my feelings about it.
About En Krlekshistoria. It sounds like the films that i really like (i love scandinavian cinema), so i 'll hunt it down. I guess some of those 'arty' films sent out encrypted signs that a specific group of people with the right experiences can decrypt and understand.

March of the Penguins. Michael Medfly attacked it for it's liberal themes. He could have simply slammed it for it's lame story line. I waited for it to come on cable and couldn't bear to sit through the whole thing. I did get the dancing penguin doll for my wife and I must say it's much more entertaining.

I actually think you DID get an answer, but i was a few days late and you never checked the thread again It's "Me and you and everyone you know", another one of my top fives. :) Great that you like Sånger från andra våningen, i liked it too, it's a very polarizing film, most think it's boring, strange and pointlessly artsy, i thought it was fun and interesting and quite fascinating. But if you can watch that one, then Lost in Translation really shouldn't be a challenge, i think :) En Kärlekshistoria, however, is Roy Anderssons first film, from 1969, and if you don't know anything about it, it's easy to think "what the hell, it's just a bunch of kids running around", because you're not (or at least i wasn't) used to seeing serious and artier films about 15 year olds falling in love, but it's really much more than that. Half of it is about these kids falling in love and the other half is about their parents and how their dreams have lost themselves in the routines of their lives, selling fridges and working on the house. It is in many ways pretty swedish (which is nothing like bergman), so maybe that's part of why it hit so hard with me.

Oh christ, i can see how you think Lost in Translation was boring and overrated, but for me it has always been top 5.
But i guess i forgive you, if only for what i am about to next, that is, suggest for inclusion on the list the the most critically acclaimed movie... ever, probably. I have tried several times to watch the Godfather, but i just don't see it. All they ever do in it is kill each other and give each other serious looks. Same goes for goodfellas, it just doesn't speak to me at all, but at least that one has some good one liners. :) And i will always argue that the best film ever made is swedish, "En Krlekshistoria" by Roy Andersson. And yes, i HAVE seen Robert Bresson..not even close. Though very good :)

Maybe, when i was watching it, i was too bored to watch a 'slow' film. I 'll try again in the future. I agree with your opininion about Goodfellas and Godfather... And i think i will might agree with you about Kärlekshistoria too, if i 'll ever have the chance to rent it (You can't find easily the old european arty films in videostores). BUT i have watched Sånger från andra våningen and it is one of my favorites. :) I asked you one more time in the past but i 've never saw the answer. Which film is your signature picture from?

Forrest Gump!!! Shawshank Redemption was a much better movie and should've won Best Picture that year.

Oh my goodness, the most 'feeling patronizing' fim i 've ever seen. Every 'arty fellow' seem to love it but noone can really explain why he/she like it. The Definition of Sentimental for the sake of it.
