i dont understand you lot, dream theater are a HEAVY METAL BAND and you
are telling them to be less heavy! if anything the next album needs to
be more heavy, train of thought is insanely good and it had loadsa
their other great elements too!

Train of Thought was a bit too heavy for me too. It had some good moments, but when compared to 'Images and Words' for example it could almost be two different bands. I prefer the band that done 'Images & Words' Lets hope the new one is a little less thrashy.. |

I wonder if Valarius already knows. If he doesn't, he's gonna be one happy man.

Definately agree with Bassist. But ToT has it's moments in which the heaviness really makes the mood right. I especially like Stream of Consiousness, arguably the best track on the album next to In The Name of God.

Nice, I'm a big fan of DT, but I hope that this album is a little less heavy than train of thought (thought TOT is a good album, but I'd rather it be less heavy.)

Look what I found on the Dream Theater site today:
Dream Theater finished recording the new album!Added on 02-26-2005On Friday February 25th 2005, Dream Theater wrapped up recording on their latest album. Mixing will be begin on Monday February 28th and the record will be delivered to the label in Mid-March. A release is expected for sometime around May/June through Atlantic Records. Dream Theater began writing and recording their latest album last November at the world famous Hit Factory studios in New York City. (everybody from Michael Jackson, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Britney Spears, U2, Mariah Carey, REM, etc. etc. have all recorded at the legendary studio) As has been reported in the media several weeks ago, the famous recording studio is closing down upon the completion of Dream Theater's recording session. This album will hold the distinction of being the VERY LAST album ever recorded at the Hit Factory in NYC. (the first was Stevie Wonder's "Songs In The Key Of Life") After the Dream Theater sessions ended on Friday night, the lights were turned off and doors were locked to the world famous studio - ending an era in the music industry.... I didn't even know they were recording, sneaky buggers, I cannot wait for this, shall undoubtably be a real treat |
