The reviewer can add that if they wish to.

Also, we should have a thing under edited reviews (like those under forum posts) that it was edited such and such a date...

Atkingani and I are quite happy to update reviews for non collaborators. Feel free to contact us.
To expand on the previous response. We check every review which is submitted to the site. It would be impractical for us to identify those which have subsequently been updated, and check them again.
Never say never though, there is the possibility of something being done in the future to address this.

I think the ability to edit should stay as a thing for Collaborators and Prog Reviewers like it is now. If you have the ability to redo reviews, the quality would go down because you can always go back and change it, and I assume most people don't really check up on other reviews they have already read to see if they have been edited.
Besides it is a little something extra for writing quality reviews. Also if you don't have the ability to edit by yourself, you would take extra care with th review you are writing to make sure there is no need to edit it.
Just my two cents.

Just want to say that I agree with The T.
This site is great, one of my favorite sites on the internet, in fact.
However, normal plebians such as myself should be able to edit reviews. I understand that there are technical issues related to enabling it, but it would improve the site tremendously, and it is very frustrating not to have the feature.
I know, the general response, as given in this thread, is "PM an admin". But I (and it seems many others) would much rather have the ability to do it ourselves.
The site would be greatly improved because: a) The general member population that writes reviews without the ability to edit would be much happier with the feature and.... b) most importantly, the quality of the websites reviews would be changed for the better, because usually when people listen to an album more, they understand it better and can better express their opinion of it.
^^^ Write good enough reviews to become a collaborator.. I've seen great reviews by non-reviewers and poor reviews by reviewers, so that's not a good answer......I'm dissapointed.... or just ask EL and Atkingani...
Before I became a prog reviewer, I did indeed have to PM atkingani or Easy Livin to edit them. It got to the point where I was doing it so much that EL actually had to ask me to stop... . Oh... I could get in the same trouble then...My first 4 or five reviews were so weak...written after just a couple listens... I can think of worse things than having to send a PM ..Yes, for example, putting your head in a hot stove is not a good choice after having breakfast.. try it again later.
True... you didn't ask me stop (that was something I imposed on myself... and hard times those were... but I PERSEVERED! So take that!
You never asked me to send them in bulk either, however, if I recall.
In fact, it seems like there are a lot of things you aren't doing. I call for a petition to sack Easy Livin for underworking himself!
EDIT: grr... and there's a hole in my sock... I'll bet you DIDN'T do THAT either... lazy bum.

No, I never asked you to stop IPOF, just to save them up and send them in bulk!
For practical reasosn, we cannot open up editing reviews to all the site members. Atkingani and I are happy to update them for you though. Just let us know the review number (in the URL of the "Permanent link"), and provide us with the revised text for the review. There's no need for the review to be deleted, we can simply update it.

What if there could be a way to edit our reviews? Sometimes people make mistakes, write reviews in a hurry, I don't know. Is the only way to contact Atkingani and have him delete it? I already did that with one (the first one I ever wrote)...To be honest, my first 3 or 4 reviews were written after just a couple listens For example, Agalloch, I gave it two stars, I could give it three now... Isn't there any way to edit our reviews or just the PM to the Adim to have them erased?
